Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. As a young girl, she relocated from London to Oxfordshire to attend the Dragon School. Emma had a dream to be a professional actress when she was just at the age of six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute with part-time courses. When she was 10, Emma had taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The movie version to J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for first time in 1999. Emma was found by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been picked for these roles. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. The film is 2001's top production, and it broke records on opening day and first weekend. Reviewers praised the film, and especially the young performers. The Daily Telegraph in Britain and the Daily Telegraph in America, widely read the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in the Feature Film. Emma was recognized five times in recognition of her role in the movie.
